Day 182: Kids! What's the big deal?

Today was great. I spent it with my dear Sally and we talked about porn, lesbianism, Sally's many feelings, my love of Feminism, and her love of strippers. In other words, I love her.
Blouse: Thrifted. Pearls on my boobs! Trust me, that went into discussion, too. Basically any excuse to talk about boobs.
Dress: Thrifted. This has a zipper that makes for easy access. *ahem*
Sweater: H&M. An old classic. Sally said I'm like an Eskimo because I don't get hot. But I'm pretty sure she meant I'm the opposite.
Purse: Thrifted.
Belt: Ralph Lauren.
Shoes/socks: Target.

Day 181: In other words, wash with cold/warm, not warm/cold

My thrifting buddy is moving soon, so I won't be able to go thrifting for a little while. Which is unfortunate but I'll try to make it happen before I leave for vacation. (I'll be with extended relatives who I haven't seen in 5-6ish years, I need some lovely new things.)
Vest: Thrifted. This vest is everything. And that is another sign that I miss Racheal Zoe.
Dress: Thrifted. Maybe it's just that this dress is so awkward fit wise but I always stray from this dress.
Blouse: Thrifted. Good old style grandma dress.
Purse: Target. Keepin' it interesting.
Headband: Delia's.
Necklace: Target. Pearls just get me. But the real question is do I get pearls?
Shoes: Target. God, Target, I owe you everything.

Day 180: "Oh my gosh! What a sad man!"

Keepin' it real with a brother who was born 100% natural is easy.
Blouse: Thrifted. Delicious. Gotta love an oversized mustard blouse!
Dress: H&M. I went bathing suit shopping today and ended up with a skirt, dress, and a form proving a ordered a bathing suit online. My vacation will be magical now.
Purse: Thrifted. See picture below.
Belt: Ralph Lauren.
Glasses: Pacsun. Prime douche.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Target.

Day 179: Scorned lover

It's about time I wore some boots. I had to resist wearing tights with all of my might this morning. But I'm glad I did; boots, a sweater, and tights would have sent me into a I-miss-fall-panic attack which is really unfair in June.
Sweater/belt: H&M. Much appreciation to this sweater for keeping it classy. I'm so glad I own a crop-top of some kind. I plan on buying one of teeshirt material. Or, y'know, I could make one. *Ahem I'm definitely artsy enough for that ahem*
Skirt: Gap. Everyone take a deep breath. I know I wear this too much. It's just the perfect length and doesn't *require* a belt and isn't in want of a print like many solids. It's just so easy.
Purse: Thrifted. I had piano lesson today. My piano teacher is awesome.
Shoes/socks: Target.

Sunday, June 26, 2011

Day 177: You're standing on a slope, son.

I'm freeeeeeee. Free dressssing.
Shirt: Thrifted. I thought the best way to prove to myself that I have energy is to put myself on fire, semi-literally.
Dress: American Apparel. Apparently, whenever I wear this I spend more time focusing on my boobs than normal. And while I do that I judge people for their support of the sexualization of breast cancer.
Belt: Thrifted. Righteous rage.
Shoes: Target. Be creative, now.

Saturday, June 25, 2011

Day 178: Oranges, kids in blue and white hats

I'm back and I'm bad. Perhaps I'm worse. If that's the case I'll only get better.
Sweater: H&M. A new outfit, trying to be good. I need to go shopping, I have money ready and waiting and I think I'll go soon. This week will be long clothing wise, I can already tell.
Dress/tshirt: Target. I classic. Whenever I wear this I miss fall. I miss tights.
Scarf belt thing: The floor of my sister's room. Charming, I know.
Shoes: Target.

Friday, June 24, 2011

Day 176: Oh please, there was no 'Max The Communist'

The end of SOS. The beginning of real clothing...again.
Shorts: Delia's. Have I mentioned my love of Rocky Horror? Yes. Well, I've started planning my Rocky Horror outfit for when I eventually see it. Which means I'll be buying Disco Shorts. This is obvz relevant.
Shirt: Warner Bros. ARE YOU SO EXCITED IT HURTS???? CAUSE I AM! Are you wondering what I'm excited for???? Then how dare you read this blog!
Shoes: Converse.

Thursday, June 23, 2011

Day 175: Reasonably depleted

Confession: I took this on Friday instead of Thursday because I was unavailable on that day.
Shorts: J.Crew. Another desperate attempt to be interesting. This at least looks acceptable, right?
Lace: Forever 21.
Tshirt: Target. Thrillerrrr.
Glasses: Pacsun. My dear friend stole these glasses at least 6 dozen times this week. He called himself Rpatz and adapted a British accent.
Bag: Ghana. I hope I look as tired as I feel.
Shoes: Converse.

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Day 174: I don't think I realized until this moment, but it must be hard being a man, too

These outfits are dull.
Shorts: Soffees. In a fun color because I'm fun.
Shirt: Thrifted. This shirt now, like all of my clothes of this week, smells like sunscreen.
Bag: Ghana. I promise I'll wear something fun in celebration for when this week is over! Don't worry.
Shoes: Converse. I came home and ate my weight in pesto.

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Day 173: Without making things worse, let me ask you a personal question

In the beginning, Caitrin wore khaki and never felt saner.
Shorts: Gap. SOS has started and life is long again. (Sorry this post is so drastically delayed.)
Shirt: American Apparel. I'm trying very hard to keep this blog interesting during SOS, but they told us we're not allowed to wear anything but shorts. F all of our lives.
Sweater: H&M. I washed cars all day. This is clearly appropriate.
Glasses: Pacsun: At night. Douchehood.
Bag: From when my sister lived in Ghana.
Shoes: Converse. You will see these for the next 3 posts.

Monday, June 20, 2011

Day 172: I'm some Christopher Columbus sailing out into my mind

Today is the first day of SOS which is a week of helping my community with a bunch of churches. So, this is an official warning: Blogging will probably be lacking and outfits won't be incredibly interesting because I'm not allowed to wear skirts or dresses or attractive shoes. However, this will be a time of creativity and hardwork so no worries. I'll try to post as much as possible.
Sweater: American Eagle. I never wear this for reasons that are forgotten whenever I put it on and ever present when I take it off.
Dress: American Apparel. Just trying to be comfortable and casual.
Shirt: Liam's. Reppin'.
Name tag: SOS swag.
Purse: Free stuff pile at co-op.
Belt: Ralph Lauren.
Shoes: Target.

Sunday, June 19, 2011

Day 171: Without a lift the ballerina falls.

This pose is so unattractive and the clothes look so ill-fitting that I'm considering cliff jumping without any training.
Blouse: Thrifted. I want to thrift so much it hurts.
Skirt: H&M. Glorious but looks so awkward.
Purse/belt: Thrifted. Why is the purse open?
Scarf thing: Home made. Quality scarfing.
Shoes: Target.

Saturday, June 18, 2011

Day 170: You know that it's just a sonata away, and you play.

This blog is not at all like Real Estate, location is not everything. It needn't be said thrice. I feel nothing towards location. But I do enjoy occasional change.
Sweater: Target. My sister went back to Columbus, her home, and accidentally* left me this sweater. I'm not going to lie, I love having a piece of her.
Skirt: Gap. Just being silly.
Single strand: My grandmother's. Which I suppose makes it vintage but that feels extremely impersonal.
Purse: Thrifted. You can't see it, sorry.
Shoes: Urban Outfitters. I spent today in Barnes & Noble looking for a copy of Dossier Journal with Andrej Pejic on it. It wasn't there, if anyone knows a way I can get a copy (without getting a subscription) in Ohio, please alert me.

Friday, June 17, 2011

Day 169: I'm no sociopath, I'm no Sylvia Plath

Just realized that taking flash pictures at night with my shitty camera makes my legs look tan and shiny and sort of scary. I have not decided how I feel about this.
Sweater: Target. This is a depressingly simple outfit. But it's in mourning for my sister's leaving.
Dress: H&M. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Purse: Forever 21. Such dull credits are fitting for a dull outfit.
Shoes: Target.

Thursday, June 16, 2011

Day 168: Son of steel and daughter of air

I took this in the morning, which explains both the sun, the messy hair, and the sweater.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. I saw this love hanging and I couldn't forgo it again. Even though it's June.
Shorts: Justice. This is my seasonal awareness.
Pearls: Target. This outfit is lacking any hint of glam.
Purse: Thrifted. This is such a good purse, I have no excuse for its lack of wear.
Shoes: Target. These are the new black flats  except for summer. Prepare your eyes for boredom.

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Day 167: "Mom's like a blood hound!"

I lost my phone for 11 hours today. Yes I counted, yes I complained more than once. Yes that's the most interesting part of my day.
Sequin thing: Thrifted. I've missed this so much. I had to wear something that would spark life in me.
Dress: Target. I've been reading Jane Eyre like crazy (due to Johannah's constant encouragement) and it has been both magical and traumatizing.
Sweater: Costco. I forgot I owned this because I hung it in my basement to dry it (after washing). That was a month ago.
Purse: Thrifted. This is not holding anything but a pencil. Because I can't find my phone or headphones. I am not a mess.
Shoes: Target. Brightening the dreary weather?

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Day 166: Kids! What?

I decorated a shirt today. It looks spiffing.
Shirt: American Apparel. I wear so many less items of clothing during summer, which just means I must be creative. And be comfortable with the lack of writing.
Shorts: J. Crew. Wearing linen makes me feel a tad too free, if y'know what I'm saying.
Sweater: Target.
Single strand: My grandmother's. This has been an awkwardly proportioned week.
Shoes: Converse. Because I'm cool and casual and everyone wants to hang out with me in parks during summer and stuff.

Monday, June 13, 2011

Day 165: "Heh heh heh"

My graduated sister and I! She is wearing my dress and shoes but who can tell? She's a stunna avec deux degrees.
Shirt/skirt: Forever 21. I feel brazen today. Perhaps a better way of putting it would be 'BRAzen'. heheheh.
Bra: Victoria's Secret. TLI=too little information.
Necklace: Old Navy. (The Kiwi is there too, no worries.)
Shoes: Target.
Bloopers!

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Day 164: If I had two children, I'd name one Pride and the other Joy.

My sister's graduation was today! She officially has a bachelor's degree in Comparative studies and French with a minor in Sociology.
Dress: H&M. This dress is so cheery. Cantaloup has never tasted so sweet.
Sweater: Old Navy. To continue the fun.
Purse: Thrifted. I wish I could capitalize numbers.
Shoes: Target.

Saturday, June 11, 2011

Day 163: I'm right back on track, ooooo.

I'm sorry for not posting, I know there are some people who check more often than others or myself and they deserve more consistent posting. It is painfully awkward to check a blog that hasn't updated in 4 days. Sorry, again. I don't normally mention my posting discrepancies, but this felt extremely noticeable.
Sweater: Thrifted. This features Christmas themed flamingos.
Shirt: Thrifted. Rambunctious little badger.
Short: Delia's.
Scarf: American Apparel.
Shoes: Old Navy. All of my credits start with S's. Alliteration is a human's best friend!

Friday, June 10, 2011

Day 162: He doesn't have a job or a wedding...nothing propelling

Such an unremarkable day, such an unremarkable outfit.
Dress: Thrifted. I'm reading Jane Eyre and Jane just met Rochester. At least one half of that pairing is experiencing sexual frsutration.
Sweater: H&M.
Shirt: Target.
Belt: Ralph Lauren.
Shoes: Target. I have nothing to say.

Thursday, June 9, 2011

Day 161: "I have good quotes! I don't have to prove myself!"-Jacob

Nothing to see here, just a bend and snap in process.
Wrap thing: Thrifted. I have officially made this remarkable piece dull and slightly matchy matchy. Job well done, Caitrin. You made something cool boring! (Jacob, it's pronounced 'blah-ag')
Dress: H&M.  This dress makes me feel chill, which is why I'm wearing it today, the day my brother Jacob returns from college. He prefers a chill sister.
Belt: Thrifted. A hint of sassafras.
Shoes: Target.

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

Day 160: Such an effort if he only knew of my plan

I know, when I wear polo's I'm cool.
Polo: Thrifted. As my dear Scarlett will remember, when I saw this in the store I said, "now THERE'S a polo I can get behind!"
Skirt: Gap. It's so wrinkly but I still feel so classy. I went into Anthropologie to y'know, look at clothes I can't afford, and didn't feel completely inadequate.
Purse: Forever 21. Prepster.
Bracelet: Gifted. Pearls have never felt so appropriate.
Shoes: Target. (Yes I am wearing the Kiwi necklace).

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Day 159: Put your hands on your hips

I look rueful. Or depressed. Or just angsty.
Sweater: H&M. I got some really shitty Bubble Tea today, it was mango flavored and I got it to match this sweater; what a regrettable action.
Nightie: Thrifted. Only 25 cents! It's tripple XL, but that increases its charms, right? More fabric to love?
Dress (under everything): American Apparel. It's Two-Dress-Tuesday, gotta keep it interesting through the summer months.
Skirt: Delia's. I was watching John Stewart, and it always makes me feel like I'm in a movie about teens who are just going through life. I also feel this when watching Daria or listening to Bikini Kill.
Necklace: New Zealand. I'm considering not crediting this anymore. Just assume it's there.
Shoes: Target.

Monday, June 6, 2011

Day 158: I've tasted blood and I want more

Look at all that noise she's making with her smile!
Dress: Target. The dress, in all of its abdomen's glory.
Shirt: Thrifted. So odd with this dress because it once was bright, tonight, it is lacking.
Purse: Thrifted. It wreaks of summer.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Target. So much happiness in these shoes.

Sunday, June 5, 2011

Day 157: Give yourself over to absolute pleasure

I know I look terribly unhappy, but today was good. Interesting. Tricky.
Skirt: Urban Outfitters. I want a Slut Walk to happen in Cincinnati and even though that probably won't happen, I've been planning my outfit. This has gone into consideration.
Shirt: Forever 21. I tried twice to watch Rocky Horror today, once was successful. I need to see it live. This year is going to be amazing, musical wise.
Sweater: Delia's. It's so thin I can wear it all summer.
Belt: Ralph Lauren.
Purse: Thrifted.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Target.

Saturday, June 4, 2011

Day 156: Honor is more important than life

So much 'tood, blame the shoes.
Shoes: Target. NEW SHOES! Finally. I love them, they're so bright and summery and comfortable. I hope you're pleased, I like them a lot.
Shorts: J. Crew. Wearing linen shorts is like not wearing anything. I mean that as a positive, of course. My legs feel powerful.
Glasses: Pacsun.
Shirt: my brother. I will remind you, not a nerd.
Purse: Thrifted. This feels appropriately classy. I was trying to de-hipster today, but I ended up drinking coffee and reading Pablo Neruda while listening to Rocky Horror. I would say minor improvement.
Sweater: Costco. Mass abuse of this sweater, I am so sorry. It's just right there and got no wear during the winter. It's yelling for redemption but I'm dying from overwear.
Necklace: New Zealand. Proud to know you.

Friday, June 3, 2011

Day 155: My seeing blood, her hearts chatter.

Waking up this morning was weird. I don't know what to do with myself without school. I feel it necessary to point out (again) that I am not a huge nerd. *ahem*
Dress: Delia's. Delia's dresses never die. I've had three for 2 years and they still fit and look the same as they did then.
Sweater: My sister's closet, which just means I haven't the slightest idea where it's *really* from.
Scarf: American Apparel. This scarf works so well as a belt I'm tempted to never wear it properly.
Brooch: My voice teacher. Another brooch! I'm so excited for this one. It matches this sweater a tad too perfectly, as in you can't see it. But I'll find a way to make it more prominent.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Purse: Forever 21.
Shoes: Target. I went shoe shopping! Part of it was for color guard shoes, which was grueling because I detest athletic wear--especially for feet. But I found a pair of flats so your eyes will be able to breath again.

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Day 153: Freshperson no more.

Last day of school. I feel very many things and thus will say very little: I enjoyed my first year of highschool and will miss my teachers. However, I am excited for my next year of education. (Sorry for sounding like a politician making a statement after an embarrassing sex scandal.)
Dress: Delia's. All in a tizzy. Caused my history teacher to say "Caitrin, you had to go out with a bang!" This was not a criticism.
Shirt: Thrifted. I've been told this is less than normal, but it's normal for Phoebe Buffay and thus socially acceptable.
Blazer: Forever 21. I had Rookie Day for color guard today, it was magical. I did not, of course, wear this outfit there. For I'm pretty damn sure the section leader would lose her mercy for me.
Necklace: New Zealand. Today is my husband's birthday! Merry birthday, Kiwi!
Bow/belt: Homemade. I didn't make the ribbon, but I fashioned it.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Day 154: How can I live when we are parted?

One day left of my Freshman year of highschool. Life is rich with plenty.
Dress/Bracelet: H&M. I wanted to look summery, and luckily I am well equipped for looking like a baked good.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Scarf (around waist)/Petti-coat: American Apparel. I love the whimsy of this outfit. I had previously never worn the petti-coat to school (last week of school celebration), so today was delightful; everyone was confused until I show them the underbelly of the poof.
Sweater: Costco. Sorry for wearing it again so soon, I was at a loss this morning.
Shoes: Target.

Since tomorrow is the last day of school, I felt this song was necessary.
(Song: One Day More-Les Miserables)
