The last day of January, let's go out with a (purple) bang. Perhaps I'll end my month long streak of waking up and not putting on make-up? One can only hope.
Sweater: Thrifted. This looks like it was homemade. Which makes me appreciate it so much more. Someone made something so cool and so original and gave it to a thrift store, that's so nice to think about.
Skirt: American Eagle. The skirt has three layers of different prints, sadly you can only see two. I'm going steady with the whole "Where high-waisted skirts under big sweaters with tights and flats/boots" thing, so I couldn't rock the boat.
Thigh highs: Target. It seems not a day goes by where my legs are free from Target.
Necklace: Vintage, my grandmothers.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Day 30: He throws a hissy fit, he don't give a shit.
I do not want the weekend to continue. I do not want to go to school. I would just like to listlessly eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Tshirt (under sweater): Harry Potter shirt so from a Harry Potter merch site. I feel so much potter pride when I wear this shirt.
Sweater: H&M. I love the color of this sweater. It never fails to make me happy.
Skirt: Forever 21.
Pearls: Thrifted.
Boots/socks/tights: Target.

Day 29: Happiness is finding a pencil.
I'm looking at the cat with empathy, it was freezing outside.
Sweater: Gifted from my most delightful voice teacher. She got it but it didn't fit so she passed it on.
Tie dye shirt: Stolen from sister. I love my sister for going to college.
Tshirt (worn under sweater and tie dye shirt): Target. Target tshirts are so much better than Old Navy's. They never stretch. Ever.
Belt: Thrifted. The new love of my life.
Skirt: H&M. I love that this skirt looks like a school girl who didn't change after she stayed up all night partying in her uniform. At least, that's what I see.
Purse: Thrifted. I love chain purses.
Tights/socks: Target. Obvz.
Pearls: Thrifted.
Single strand gold necklace: Vintage, my grandmothers.
Boots: Target. These shoes always deserve their own credit.

Day 28: I can spell 'confusion' with a K.
Not ripped tights
Today was not the best day of the year, my expression reflects that. All I really wanted to do all day was sleep and listen to Damien Rice. For educational purposes' I had to be awake not listening to depressing melodies.
Tights: American Apparel. I love these tights but they ripped SO FAST. Opaque tights from AA are typically a bit stronger than these but oh well, I'l just be like Ke$ha.
Dress (worn under shirt and sweater): Target. I believe this dress was originally bought as a beach cover up. But I don't take much care for seasons.
Shirt: Forever 21. I've worn this before but I really "felt" it this morning. It's really soft and the gold on it is really classic looking. Overall it's just really nice.
Sweater: Thrifted. My best old lady cardigan by far. Not very cozy, but the embroidery of flowers and the little clear beads that look like rain and just too perfect to not wear all the time.
Shoes: Old Navy.
Socks: Target.
Ripped tights

Day 27: Kiwi jam.
Today was "Geek Day" for spirit week. Hence the suspenders. The big issue was that my shorts were severely strained due to being held up.
Suspenders: Hot Topic. I got these instead of sequined ones, I don't know what I was thinking.
Velvet tshirt: Thrifted. This shirt is so, so soft. My friend likes to pet me (that's not weird, okay) and she freaked out over how soft this shirt is.
Purse: Thrifted. This purse is not holding anything and it weighs around 6 pounds. Ridiculous, I know but I couldn't NOT buy this. It was $1.25 and it hurts your eyes if you stare at it too much.
Shorts: Forever 21. Formal short wear.
Single strand: Vintage, my grandmothers. I LOVE this necklace. It looks best as a single strand because it's so simple. I don't "do" simplicity that often, so I appreciate it whenever I can.
Shoes: Target. These shoes felt PERFECT for this outfit for some reason. When I saw them this morning I was thrilled. Wearing really comfortable cowboy boots makes me feel so classy.

Day 26: Don't stress the lipstick smudges.
My sweater is from the men's section. It looks like an optical illusion. That is the only exciting thing about today.
Sweater: H&M mens section. So comfortable, so happy. I don't know why the camera did this to it, normally it looks and functions like a sweater. But in this moment, I swear it was infinite. (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.)
Dress (worn under sweater): Delia's. It's been a little while since I donned this dress. I love how easy it is. It looks so much like a skirt when it wants to.
Socks: Urban Outfitters. I want to name these socks Old Faithful.
Headband: Forever 21. I want to tell everyone who compliments me on my "bow" that this is not a bow. It is a headband that has fabric flowers on it. But it's so awkward when they're trying to be nice.
Pin: Thrifted. I got this to momentarily fulfill my desperate want for a broach. Though I love this old lady pin, it has nothing on true broaches.
Tights: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
Tuesday, January 25, 2011
Day 25: Laced with sarcasm.
I think my outfit looks like a glam forest fire.
Shirt: Thrifted. I've had this shirt for a while but I couldn't think of a reasonable way to wear it, then I realized that it is an oversized, velvet, menshirt with flames on it. It does not need to be reasonable.
Skirt: Children's Place. I got this skirt when I was 8. It is meant to be worn at the hips not high waisted, but my love for this skirt made miracles happen.
Black lace shirt: The Limited. This is *borrowed* from my mother...definitely not stolen.
White lace shirt: Forever 21. I love that this shirt is so baggy and huge.
Belt: Thrifted. It is a lace belt with sequins on the buckle. Aka it is pure perfection.
Socks: Gift. As in I have no idea because my grandmother sent them to me years ago.
Pin: Vintage, my grandmothers.
Tights: Target.

Day 24: Baby loves to dance in the dark.
Newly thrifted item: Disco Leopard sweater!
Sweater: Thrifted. So obsessed with this sweater. I am unashamed to say I was pretty obsessed with myself while I was wearing it. The neckline is really itchy and the shape is a bit unfortunate, but those are the only cons. The pros are overflowing though. I mean seriously, disco leopard.
Skirt: H&M. My very first pencil/mini skirt. Oh memories.
Socks: Target. Everyone loves a good argyle sock. If you don't, I don't believe you. I'm never tired of feeling like my ankles are that of a college professors.
Glasses: Target dollar section. These are definitely little girl glasses, but so are the Goody Barrettes I'm wearing.
Pearls: Thrifted.
Tights: Target.

Day 23: Why am I not Lucy Honeychurch?
I went thrifting today, the new items couldn't be worn immediately but they will most definitely be making appearances on this here blawgy blawg soon. The outfit I'm currently wearing is a little dull but really comfortable and I mean, it's a faux fur vest, I'm not completely normal, right?
Vest: Old Navy. As a vegan fur is a tricky area for me. I actually really love wearing fake fur. And I own this vest and a leopard print jacket. They are both fake and my vegan morals love it.
Fair Aisle Sweater: Delia's. I LOVE this sweater. It feels so seasonal but it's soops warm and cozy. I just wanna wear it while watching A Room With A View (which I did last night just without the sweater, it was still awesome).
Lipstick: Revlon. I am giving some needed credit to my favorite lipstick brand because I wear it all the time and have never mentioned it, so here it is; I love Revlon.
Skirt: Urban Outfitters. Quality.

Day 22: Little asian boy whimsy.
New bangs, they make me feel like an 11 year old asian boy. But hey, that's always been a dream of mine! Tomorrow I will thrift away my problems.
Blouse: Forever 21. It's sort of awkwardly baggy, but I love it because of the color.
Skirt: Forever 21. I don't like wearing two pieces from the same store, especially when they're THIS matchy matchy. But I packed this stuff for when I went to a friends house and I didn't want to change because I actually really like this outfit.
Sweater: H&M. Orange is such a great color against snow. I would love an orange party dress, better add that to the forever growing shopping list.
Hair clips: Goody Barrettes. I LOVE these. They have a lot of little girl whimsy.
Tights/socks: Target.
Purse: Thrifted.
Pearls: Thrifted

Day 21: Shoulder paddin' it.
I believe this is the shoulder pads first appearance on the blog. I wore these shoes today even though the are vastly inappropriate for the weather.
Jacket: Thrifted. The buttons on this look like black disco balls. It has giant shoulder pads. It is super grody. What about this jacket isn't amazing?
Shorts: Justice. These used to be pants but I never wore them because they were HUGE on me. Scissors fixed that problem.
Dress (worn as shirt): American Apparel. This dress is short enough to be a shirt but long enough to be a dress. And the sleeves require creativity. Perfect.
Necklace: Old Navy. I believe this is the first outfit where mah fav belt and mah fav necklace are worn together!
Belt: Thrifted.
Shoes: Urban Outfitters.
Purse: Forever 21. I know I'm wearing this purse too much, and since I have at least a dozen perfectly proportioned purses I really shouldn't be wearing it this much, I just love how it looks with everything.

Day 20: And the tree said "I wish I could be a different kind of tree"
Please ignore the facial expression. It's excessively sketchy. We had no school today so I just wanted to be comfortable, the original outfit I had planned is fantastic. Whenever I get back to school I'll be honored to wear it again. This outfit is soops summery, sort of.
Dress (worn under everything): Target (I think). It has a summer vibe, which feels really nice on snow days.
Blouse: H&M. A very ratty shirt but it has a glam feel, right?
Scarf: My Mothers. I love this scarf. I believe it's vintage. It smells amazing (if that sounds weird, that is only because you haven't smelled it).
Purse: Forever 21. My summer bag.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters.
Socks/shoes/tights: Target.
Belt: Homemade. It's actually a really thin scarf, but I only wear it as a belt.

Day 19: "Well Caitrin, that is QUITE an outfit"
-My history teacher. An especially long skirt. I felt uncomfortable with it all day. The lips got MANY comments.
Skirt: I don't know...again. From the looks of the mangled tag, I think it's Forever 21. I love it though. I could have made it high-waisted but I felt sick of my knees.
Button: Vintage. This was a gift, it was my grandmother's.
Shirt (worn under sweater): Forever 21. I wore this on the first day of school and I love it. The collar gets so many compliments.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. The most comfortable sweater. Ever.
Tights: J. Crew.
Socks: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
Tuesday, January 18, 2011
Day 18: Limited expectations.
My outfit just made me happy today. Even though multiple parts of it are "recycled". I would just like to point out that my facial expressions/hand placement are brand new. (Do I get brownie points?)
Tights: Target. New tights! At least, new to the blog. So comfortable, so completely ripped up, basically just like all my tights. But blue!
Skirt: Forever 21. Okay so yes this skirt is slightly short and yes it is slightly see through. But when it comes to what I usually wear, this fits right in. And I don't know how I'm supposed to resist something that is sparkly, cheap AND blue. (Aka my guilty pleasures).
Blouse: Thrifted. Worn it before, old news. Still good news, though.
Blazer: Thrifted. Still getting compliments on this blazer. So into it.
Shoes: Old Navy.
Socks: Target.
Pearls: Thrifted.

Day 17: Bye, bye birdie.
First time wearing make-up on the blog. There are too many firsts in January. Nothing is as special when it is celebrated daily.
Dress: Thrifted. This is my slutty-grandma dress. The buttons just LOVE popping out in awkward places, such as: school, small group, on stage, taking pictures, seeing real old people.
Tights: American Apparel. I bought them for my Halloween costume, which was being a cupcake.
Blouse: Thrifted. So in love with this shirt. It looks like Joseph's technicolor dream coat.
Shoes: Old Navy.
Socks: Target.
Purse: Forever 21. Normally I disapprove of matching my purse and tights, but I was feeling the whole matchy thing today.
Belt: Thrifted.

Day 16: Damn it feels good to be a gangster.
Skirt: American Eagle. Another skirt from my sister that I savor. I think it looks like an apron, but since I've been known to where legit aprons as normal attire I'm not bothered.
Sweater: Forever 21. I love this sweater but I'm never able to wear it because of the awkward sleeve length. I almost didn't take it with me, but I was hoping my over packing would pay off and low and behold it did.
Blouse (worn under sweater): Forever 21. I mostly bought this because it's soops soft and leopard print, which is good enough reasoning.
Purse: thrifted. Almost didn't get this because it was really hard to open but thank goddess I persevered.
Belt: Ralph Lauren belt that I thrifted. I wish I had a belt just like this one but with a gold clasp. The outfit would have made a lot more sense that way.
Boots: Target.
Tights/socks: target.

Day 15: They can't stand besides me.
This is my other front door at my dad's. I was really excited about this outfit when I put it on this morning, all the major pieces (i.e. skirt, sweater vest, blouse) are new to the blog. They have just been waiting for this special day.
Skirt: I have no idea, I got this from my sister. Dearest Hoj, where is this from? EDIT: Apparently it's from H&M. Thanks Jo!
Blouse: Thrifted. LOVE these sleeves. They are exploding out of the arm holes of the sweater vest.
Sweater vest: Thrifted. I wore this on my first ever day of school (which was only 6 months ago...).
Broach: Thrifted. My old lady leaf broach<3
Socks: Urban Outfitters. Obsessed.
Shoes: Target. These shoes are just looking better the worse the weather/I treat them. The perfect shoes.

Day 14: *Musing at the Museum.
First picture not in front of my house. You better be excited.
Tank: J. Crew. I really dislike this color, but I love the sequined pocket. I just would have loved it more in black or a color. Meh brown is too...meh.
Purse: Forever 21. I love this clutch so, so much. It has a bow and it feels like color blocking. Even though I'm clearly not color blocking.
Shirt (worn under tank): Old Navy. Extremely stretched but maybe that can just add to its charm.
Skirt: Urban Outfitters. I love everything about this skirt. I put on pants when I first got up today, but then I remembered this skirt and changing became a must.
Shoes: Urban Outfitters. SO COMFORTABLE.
Necklaces: My grandmothers. Free vintage jewelry=win.
Belt: Thrifted.
Tights/socks: Target. These socks are being so loved.

Day 13: The Admiration Generation.
Exams are over. I am done trying with my hair...not that it looks like I ever try. I've also worn almost all of this stuff before, so the credits should be quick.
Cell Phone: T-Mobile. I don't have any pockets so this was the only option.
Shirt: Thrifted. It is leopard print and weighs like 5 pounds even though it's not warm at all.
Dress: H&M. Also makes me feel studious. I think it's just the cable knit.
Belt: Thrifted. Obsessed. Have I mentioned that I almost didn't buy this belt? Thank goddness for my thrifting friend!
Necklace: Old Navy.
Tights/socks: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Day 12: Breezing through the snow.
Only had to take three classes today. Though, to be fair, they were all exams.
Sweater (worn under dress): American Eagle. I got this from my sister's closet and I only wore it today because it makes me feel studious.
Dress: American Apparel. This really is a dress, but I was, for the first time, afraid of breaking dress code. So I wore shorts.
Shorts: Forever 21. Who doesn't love some winter shorts?
Tights: J. Crew. Look at me! Some tights that aren't from Target!
Shoes: Old Navy. I bought this when I bought my fur vest. I need to remember to wear that...
Pearls: thrifted.
Belt: Ralph Lauren. It was thrifted, but I felt the need to add that.
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
DAY 11: Vegan scones and feminist poetry.
Wild, wild west/glamorous motorbike rider...in the snow.
Fringe jacket: Thrifted. First thing I ever thrifted! Oh memories. It hasn't gotten as much wear as it should, mostly due to the fact that I hate covering up sequins but also because it's depressing to put a majestic beast like this in a locker.
Sweater (worn under coat): Thrifted. The sequins are in weird shapes that sort of look like balloons and also look like flying hearts. I can never figure out the prints of my thrifted items.
Thigh highs/boots: Target. Just like all my footwear, it seems.
Scarf: Homemade.
Purse: Thrifted.
Dress (worn under everything else): Target.
Monday, January 10, 2011
Day 10: No provenance.
Hair Up.
Exam week has officially started. I was incredibly comfortable today in my HOMEMADE scarf!
Scarf: Homemade. Makes me feel like a baller.
sweater: Urban Outfitters. This is the cream version of this sweater. It is still comfortable.
Dress (worn under sweater): Delia's. It's not very comfortable but I love it under sweaters and blazers.
Shoes: Target. Hell yeah.
Tights/socks: Target.
Hair Down.
Sunday, January 9, 2011
Day 9: Shine bright, shine far.
I actually felt like trying when I got dressed this morning! My history text book appreciated it, I'm sure.
Shirt (worn over dress): Thrifted. It has all this glitter on it, so whenever I hug someone they get some glitter on them. I think of that as a huge plus for every hug receiver.
Dress: Forever 21. A surprisingly high quality piece for Forever 21. Super comfortable but is a pain in the ass to wear anything over it because the velvet gathers it oddly, especially on sleeves. It makes up for it by how pretty it looks in the sunlight.
Headband: Forever 21. Like my necklace, it is one of my best purchases. Accessories, (wo)man.
Belt/necklace/bag: thrifted. I think all thrifted from the same store!
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
Socks/tights/slightly invisible bracelet: Target.
The outfit from the back and with flash looks so much cooler.
P.s. I've had 'Shine bright, Shine far!' from 'Life Size' stuck in my head all day. Damn you, Tyra Banks!
Saturday, January 8, 2011
Day 8: Joseph Beth's for 3 hours.
All I've done today is eat sweet potatoes and study. That explains the pants.
Pants: H&M. I love them even though I can't do a high kick in them (a requirement for most of my leg wear).
Crop top sweater: H&M. This sweater is exceedingly cozy and I always wear it during exam week.
Belt: Thrifted. I love this belt so much. I wear it whenever I feel like my outfit doesn't have anything particularly interesting on.
Shoes: Target. These shoes remind me of Peter Pan because they have that sort of dirty, earthy quality.
Tank top: Forever 21. It was two dollars and mustard yellow. That is all I have to say.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters.
Friday, January 7, 2011
Day 7: Missing Chievous.
First snow of 2011.
Socks: Urban Outfitters. The credits start at the socks because basically everyone I interacted with commented on them today. I also have never worn them before, so their deflowering went very well.
Lace shirt: H&M. Almost wasn't able to afford this shirt but I'm glad I splurged because it is my most versatile piece of clothing and incredibly warm (even though lace is all holes).
Tights: American Apparel. Not very comfortable but they're in good condition and I love when people think that the white leg is my actual skin. I'm really not that pale.
Skirt: H&M. Very plain-Jane and has been treated horribly but I love that about it.
Sweater: Forever 21. It has a giant bow on it, though the shirt made the bow invisible.
Boots: Target.
Scarf (worn as belt): Found on sisters floor. Aka the best store ever.
Thursday, January 6, 2011
Day 6: "I'm gonna name you Charlemagne!"
I swear I'm wearing two socks. Ignore the hair.
Blazer: Thrifted. It has a print that I don't understand, it looks like vikings and greek and medals?
Dress (worn under sweater and blazer): Target. I love it, it has pockets (yes that is a plus) and I am slightly obsessed with how it looks under sweaters.
Tiger sweater: Thrifted. Is it possible for anything to beat the pure epicness of a tiger sweater with my city's name on it? Yes, my friend naming said tiger "Charlemagne".
Necklace: Old Navy (I think). I got this years ago and I love it. It makes me feel like I have a sort of old fashioned glam going. Which is why I wore it with somewhat grungy/lazy looking clothes.
Tights/sock(s): Target.
Boots: Charlotte Russe. I'm actually not fond of these shoes, the look is sort of flat and blah but they're sort of like wearing slippers and sometimes I don't feel like being 3 inches taller than my friends (which is what happens in my cowboy boots, no hate though).

Day 5: "You look like my step-mom's sofa!"
Today was dull. This blazer is not.
Shorts: Forever 21.
Blazer: Thrifted. It is such a diamond in the rough, when I found it I freaked out and dropped my pearls.
Sweater (under blazer): H&M as far as I can tell, but I got it from my sister who took it from a friend so the sources are sketchy.
Shirt (under sweater under blazer): Old Navy. It is stretched like none other but I got what I paid for, which was a 2 dollar shirt.
Bracelet/necklace: Gifts.
Boots: Target. FINALLY shoes that aren't my sequined black flats! These are the most comfy shoes I own and they look 'well-loved'.

Day 4: A choo choo chooin.
The cupcake sweater received much appreciation from my peers. I was told it looked like: A wedding cake (very true), a unicorn (somewhat agreeable), a walrus (wrong), an iPod, and a Harry Potter character (thinking they were referring to Luna).
Cupcake Sweater: Thrifted. A mere picture cannot express the beauty of this piece of clothing.
Dress (worn under sweater): H&M. This dress actually does remind me of Harry Potter. I thus wore it to the midnight premier.
Tights/socks: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang for Kohls.

Day 3: Valentines Day in January
Today was the first day of school in 2011 and I was told today by several people that I look like a moodier Valentine's Day. Which I, of course, took as a huge compliment.
Dress worn under blouse: Delia's. It looks a lot like an old fashioned night gown but seeing as I recently purchased an old fashioned night gown, I don't see that as an issue.
Blouse: Thrifted. The sleeves are HUGE. They make me look like Popeye but pink and not Popeye.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. Another one of the sweaters from Christmas! So warm. Like wearing melting chocolate.
Tights/socks: Target. Need I say more?
Belt: The floor of my sister's bedroom.
Shoes: Simply Vera: By Vera Wang at Khols.
Pearls/broach/invisible pearl bracelet: Thrifted/gifts.

Day 2: Falling Slowly
I'm in love with wearing socks over tights, it makes my feet feel like the center of attention, which is a good thing...Definitely a good thing.
Socks/tights: Target. Target is a good friend to feet.
Skirt/sweater: Urban Outfitters. I got 4 Urban sweaters, so I have a feeling that until June urban will have a very special place on this blog.
Pearls/purse: Thrifted.
Shoes: Simply Vera: Vera Wang at Kohls.

Day 1: It's the Final Countdown
First outfit of 2011, feels damn fine.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. Sort of in love with it because it's the most comfortable thing I've ever worn.
Skirt: Forever 21. It was a christmas gift, really uncomfortable but I have a feeling I'll wear it all the time simply because it's sequins and just barely is okay for school dress code.
Glasses/tights: Target dollar section...I think.
Shoes: Urban Outfitters. Almost as comfortable as my cowboy boots, but I doubt anything could be as comfortable as though boots.
