Day 121: I was zero when I came out my mama.

I watched the full wedding this morning, it was beautiful. I also got a much improved view of the dress and saw all of the hats. Major love to Beatrice.
Skirt: American Eagle. This outfit feels very chill and sort of dull to me. But it's the weekend and I'm sick and I spent the day working on a power point with my friend. Feel free to start calling me Excuses Elphaba.
Sweater: H&M. This is a really special sweater for no reason.
Purse: Thrifted
Scarf: American Apparel.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Tshirt: Target. Blahhh never wear tshirts again.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls. Don't hit me.

Day 120: Here that, Caitrin?

I, Caitrin Grace Bogart Sweeney Pod, am so excited about the Royal wedding! No one in my school seems  excited--at all. It's sort of a buzzkill. At least it would be, if my buzz was killable. BUT NAY. I didn't wake up at 4:00 AM to watch because I'm sick and school and all of the obvious issues. But I saw the dress before school. Holy shit. The dress rocked my world. I'm not gonna talk about it at length, but my mind keeps straying back to it and I can't accurately explain why. But certain items of clothing sort of take me away, and this was one of them. It embodied a lot of qualities I value in clothing. Also, I don't really like weddings and don't believe in marriage and don't plan on doing either. But this wedding--specifically this dress--are something else entirely.
Blouse: Thrifted. I'm at my dad's and completely forgot my brooches (not that I have any that are worthy of any praise except "Oh it was only 50 cents?!") so I don't feel appropriate for this magical day. Though, Laura and I are planning on going fancy hat shopping soon.
Dress: Forever 21. Velvet is classy, right?
Belt: Ralph Lauren.
Watch: Thrifted. I think I need another watch. Perhaps one that isn't an hour early.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls. Goddamn. We are all sick of these shoes. I promise I'll go shoe shopping soon.

Day 119: In expectation.

I've realized I love hiding my face. I don't want to know what this says about my personality.
Shorts: Delia's. We're learning clothing in French right now and I like their words for things much better. Mostly because they keep items like 'shorts' and 'pants' singular. It makes more sense.
Sweater: H&M. I always wear this around the house. It's my go to "I'm lazy" sweater.
Shirt: Thrifted. I don't know how this still has glitter on it. It comes off on everything.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Day 118: He's back, oh praise the sun.

I do this face a lot when I'm posing, at least once every "session". But I'm legitimately exhausted today so I have an excuse, right?
Blouse: Thrifted. One of the best blouses ever, right? Shoulder pads, shiny beading, and the red is so pungent it is giving me a headache. Also, everyone thought I looked like a Russian dancer today, but clearly I look like a Spanish Matador.
Dress: Target. This is supposed to chill out the blouse, but it was unsuccessful because it just enhanced the awesomeness.
Necklace: New Zealand. I feel weird that it's just plain against my skin. I need to add something...
Purse: Thrifted.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls. These are starting to get noticeably grody, I think it's time I bought normal black flats. Knowing me it will still take forever to actually happen though.

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Day 117: This is dangerous, this is smooth

Untied shoe. Unbuttoned blazer. Uncared for hair. With this lack of organization, it is a wonder I did face that matches my shirt.
Shirt: Thrifted. I'm in love with this shirt. I'm so impatient when it comes to recycling pieces that I love. But if I really love it, I have to let it rest.
Blazer: Thrifted. My outfit is supposed to reflect the current spring in Ohio, where we've gotten more rain than we ever have. The skirt is spring, the blazer is the rain, and the shirt are me feelings towards discussion of rain.
Skirt: H&M. It would be fair to assume that I'm slightly obsessed with this too.
Socks: Target. I don't think these have been worn yet. I love them, they look like accordions when they're all scrunched up.
Belt: Ralph Lauren (thrifted).
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Target.

Monday, April 25, 2011

Day 116: I looked at the shape of the table and found it satisfactory.

My face looks janky, but my calf is stunning. I'm transfixed. Especially since I did this pose as a joke (hence the face).
Sweater: Thrifted. This looks really random, but I woke up and realized it's monday and I just couldn't bring myself to reach past this beauty.
Skirt: Forever 21. I originally had this long instead of high waisted (for comfort, per usual) but I had to show some knee. Because you know what they say, (in)modest is hottest!
Shirt (under everything): Target.
Scarf (worn under sweater as a belt): Homemade. I need to make more belts.
Necklaces: New Zealand and Target.
Shoes: Target. God I've missed these gifts from the goddess.

Day 115: Pipes 'N Things!

Today was wonderful. By far the best day of break. I spent this easter with my vegan siblings and my non vegan brother and mom and smoked our pipes, ate vegan food, made inappropriate jokes and the like. It was incredible. My outfit is supposed to emulate Lizzie McQuire and Sister Sister.
Dress: Thrifted. I've been waiting for a special day to wear this dress and I'm so glad today was it. I'm really glad it smells like pipe tobacco now too, because pipe tobacco smells incredible. (I'm totes not encouraging smoking, but pipe smoking is really fun)
Shirt under dress: Thrifted. This was a really good thrifting trip. My brother thinks this shirt looks like one of those 3D pictures that you have to stand back to understand. My sister says it's a Monet. I think it just looks like classy 2001 or 1998.
Bag: Given to me by my sister when she lived in Ghana.
Watch: Thrifted.
Necklace: New Zealand. This was a really good day in terms of my knowing someone in New Zealand. But everyday is like that.
Socks/shoes: Target.

Saturday, April 23, 2011

Day 114: She just threw it away, huh? Well, I'm out of her league.

Very simple get-up. But tomorrow I'm seeing my brother and sister for vegan Easter tomorrow so I need to save up my "good" outfits. This looks pretty average, tomorrow will be better.
Sweater: American Eagle. I've almost gotten rid of this so many times, it just looks so chill and cozy that I keep keeping it.
Skirt: Forever 21. This is getting grodier and grodier. Perhaps I should find a better lace skirt? I think so.
Necklace: New Zealand. For the last few days it's been hiding, but it has been in the pictures I promise. I always wear it.
Shirt: Forever 21. Such boring credits today, please, just skip this post.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Friday, April 22, 2011

Day 113: I mean, well, you know how it is.

I look like a party, I know.
Leggings: Target. I'm getting obsessed with these leggings, slowly. They sparkle and are ripped and look soops janky, but in a good way.
Old Faithful (socks): Urban Outfitters.
Lace shirt: Forever 21.
Sweater vest: Thrifted. I wish I owned more sweater vests.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. Spring Formal is in a few weeks, so I get to start looking for another formal-y dress. I'm not even gonna pretend I'm not excited.
Dress: Target.
Belt: Ralph Lauren.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Purse: Thrifted.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Day 112: You just have to figure that some day it's just gonna be...unfloopy.

I look listless. I feel weighted.
Blouse: Thrifted. It looks awkward because of the wind, I know. But I'm jazzed about it anyway. Forever jazzed.
Skirt: H&M. Speaking of skirts, I need a plaid skirt, hardcore need. My yearning is palpable. I would like it to be shorter and somewhat like the skirt in Empire Records that Liv Tyler wears the whole time. I'm obsessed with that movie, btw. I suggest everyone watches it.
Sweater: Forever 21. Sorry that I've worn all of these items before.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Watch: Thrifted.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
Also,
Coat search update:
The Row fall RTW 2011 (Image from Style.com)
I found it! Now I just the thousands of dollars it is sure to cost! If you need an explanation, you can read this and take that to read this. Basically, I was dying for a leopard print coat. Though other than the price the issue is the fact that this is definitely not vegan and I am. Even so, I might have to make this my twitter background and my desk top background. But that is still to be seen. Also, this whole collection is wonderful, looks numbers 15 and 25 spoke to my "I wish I was a teen witch" heart. This is one closer step to reaching my goal of said coat. I'll keep looking.

Hey Pattybad, I love you.
Ps. Liam is mine.

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Day 111: Oh to be young again...and also a robot!

I have no witty comments. I have nothing to say. Spring break has been grey and my spirits have been grey-er. THOUGH, I got a new (old) Mac book pro. Posting obnoxious things on the internet has never been so easy.
Vest: Thrifted. Best. Vest. Ever. The beading is insane and the fit is heaven.
Headband: Forever 21. I forgot about this
Necklace: New Zealand.
Dress: Forever 21.
Socks: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Day 110: I should warn you though, he's a little unusual...he wears sandals.

This post is devoted to Amanda, who gets to see my awesome brother (pictured above) in ENGLAND tomorrow!
Sweater: Delia's. This sweater never gets old. Well, it is old. But my love is un-aging but forever maturing.
Tshirt: Target. This outfit is very chill, very nonchalant. Also, sort of boring.
Belt: Thrifted. This make me glam and interesting, right?
Dress (under everything): Target.
Leg warmers: H&M. I love these because they're so warm, but they itch a lot and really require tights to look appropriate. I'd like them with red or yellow tights.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Monday, April 18, 2011

Day 109: And you can't bring me down

This outfit has given me hope. Spring/summer can still look like me. I got bored with winter (I never get bored with fall), but I'm always nervous for the warmer months. This was a wonderful teaching moment for me.
Dress (under shirt): Thrifted. I haven't worn this yet because I think it looks very average. It's a very unremarkable dress in that right, but it will work wonderfully for summer and it can layer like a dream.
Petti coat (under everything): American Apparel. This just makes my like a cupcake aka heavenly.
Shirt: Thrifted. I love everything about this shirt. It falls perfectly, every shirt should hang like this one (if that's intended)
Socks: Urban Outfitters. These even out the outfit. Also, I need to get these in the other color.
Belt: Homemade
Earrings: Free from a family friend. I love free stuff, I'm just gonna be real.
Purse: Thrifted. Too much thrifted or free stuff? Never.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Urban Outfitters.

Sunday, April 17, 2011

Day 108: You can't even sell a damn cupcake!

Spring has sprung with cliches!
Wrap thing: Thrifted. This item is a rarity, it makes you colder instead of warmer. I love it anyway. I'm too generous with my love.
Skirt: Forever 21. I'm glad this is getting more wear, I feel weird neglecting winter holiday gifts.
Blouse: Thrifted. This is being snubbed in the picture, the embellishments have pearls. It's so beautiful. I'm sorry for your eyes. They're losing.
Scarf: Gifted from my sister when she was in France. This is an ocean of bliss.
Necklace: New Zealand. What a multi-national outfit, Caitrin!
Purse: Gifted from my voice teacher. This purse is perfection. She got it for free and has bequeathed it unto me!
Socks/tights: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Day 107: I'm not living without you

I got my eye on you, and um...Damn. I saw one of my best friends as Annie in Annie tonight and she was incredible! I'm so very proud of her.
Sweater: H&M. I've been ignoring this sweater because it seems so simple and obvious. But I am promising it that I'll be lovin' on it plenty this Spring.
Button down: Forever 21. I'm just so obsessed with collars, they rock my world every time.
Skirt (number 1): Delia's. I love this skirt and I plan on layering it more effectively next time. This was a first attempt. I'm gonna buy the American Apparel lace bike shorts for next time.
Skirt: (Number 2): Forever 21. Keepin' it classy.
Watch/bracelets/necklace: Thrifted/homemade/New Zealand.
Tights/socks: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Friday, April 15, 2011

Day 106: When she walks, the revolution's coming

I've been sick all day. I nearly threw up in 3rd period. I refuse to draw conclusions about life because of that. Suck it, impulses.
Sweater: Thrifted. I'm so classy in this, right? I'm the definition of classy. In case I haven't mentioned this, I'm classy. But. Perhaps I'm classy without the sweater.
Nightie: Thrifted. This diffuses the classy sweater, right?
Dress (under everything else): Delia's. Everyone thought the nightie was part of this dress. This of course made me feel really good because I've worn this dress at least 42 times at school.
Belt: Thrifted. I think my outfits are starting to weigh a tad too heavily on thrifting. But I will not change my ways.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Day 105: Livin is easy without G's.

I like the hipsterness of this picture. I like that it's blurry. I like that I've started to develop theories about who I am in the space of blurred light.
Skirt: American Eagle. I love this skirt. It's by far my favorite skirt to manipulate into a high waist.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. This outfit is really simple, but it felt like it took so much energy to put together.
Socks: Target. Never thought to put these in this place. Sometimes using your brain works.
Purse: Thrifted. Easy, so in love.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Day 104: We living good, they aggravated.

I know, I'm smiling, my legs are everywhere, and the flowers are about. Spring break is obviously responsible. It starts on Ohio Friday after school! So basically it starts on Saturday, but I refuse.
Blouse: Thrifted. I'm on a role with thrifted blouses. And I have a fantastic outfit planned but it requires good news and good weather. Waiting to hear back about color guard auditions. Maybe...
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. I don't care what season, this sweater gets an appearance.
Skirt: Forever 21. I wore this just for my friend(s) who usually call me a ho, I wanted them to have special ammunition. But I forgot that we don't have the same class schedule today and I didn't see them. That was a bad time for me emotionally.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Day 103: My inability to do a Pop-Toss has caused many ripple effects to the Greater Cincinnati area

This skirt is in reaction to yesterday's. My legs need freeing. Though, my face looks mischievous in this, so perhaps there was less of an improvement than I thought.
Sweater vest: Thrifted. I've worn this before, but without it being on top. I think you can tell why, it's pretty awkwardly shaped and makes everyone (me) look pregnant. But I love the red and I'm a sucker for sweater vests.
Blouse: Thrifted. I'm a thrifting machine.
Skirt: Forever 21. I love Johannah's former skirts. They're magnificent. I'm so glad we're (basically) the same size. I'm also glad we're related.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls. Shitake I've been wearing these for forever.

Monday, April 11, 2011

Day 102: We are all significant.

I honestly wish I wore clothes like this all the time. I think if I was a Professional I would dress like this all the time. I think blouses like this are perfect.
Blouse: Thrifted. One of my best thrifted items yet. I'm really excited about it for spring/summer. It's just so easy and pretty. I don't own many pretty things, I own a lot of glam. This is a nice change.
Skirt: H&M. I always forget how uncomfortable this skirt is. I get so used to loose, comfy skirts, then I put this on. And life ends for a little bit.
Jacket thing: Forever 21. I possibly look like a flight attendant from the 60's. Am I the only one who sees it?
Necklace: New Zealand. It's invisible because it didn't go with this outfit, but I feel weird without it.
Bracelets/pearls/watch: Homemade/Thrifted. I'm obsessed with this watch. It's perfecttt. Its only flaw is that it's an hour early, but I'm in Algebra 1. So I can +1 to every hour...hopefully.
Hair clips: Goody Barrettes. Today were the color guard auditions, I didn't wear this outfit. But I kept the clips so I could feel like me.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Day 101: Rebel girl.

I have a confession: I don't own a leopard and/or snake skin coat (faux of course). This is horrible. As I've said before, Mimi from RENT (Original Broadway cast, not movie) is responsible for why I dress the way I do. She has done a great deal in forming who I am and my style. Because of that whenever I don't know what to wear or am nervous for something, I try to channel her. And it always works. Always. I'm not really doing that today (obviously) but I've realized that I don't own Mimi's signature piece; the Leopard/snake skin coat (depending on the performance). That's something I feel should change, and change soon. So, today marks the beginning of my search for said coat. tl;dr, I want a leopard coat.
Shirt (under button down):  Thrifted. This reminds me so hard of Phoebe from Friends. Which of course is always a good thing.
Button down: H&M. Still loving it.
Shoes: Target. These really aren't getting enough wear.
Skirt: Urban Outfitters. I rode my brothers longboard today (I was wearing different shoes, don't worry) and the skirt cause so much trouble. It felt painful.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Purse: Thrifted.
Old Faithful: Urban Outfitters. (the socks)
Earrings: Justice, I think. I'm not really sure because I got all of my earrings when I was 11.

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Day 100: Oh my child what a bonne idee!

With an outfit like this I need a pose that doesn't make me look like a seven year old child playing dress up. But alas, I am unable to look appropriate. But in good news, I went thrifting today and got some amazing blouses and a dress and a new apron! It's all very exciting. I'm wearing one of the shirts tomorrow. Though be warned; in all of my thrifting items two thoughts kept coming back to me "Sister Sister" and "Lizzie McGuire". You're gonna love it.
Sequin vest thing: Thrifted. I don't think I've worn this yet, someone should correct me if I'm wrong. I'm slightly obsessed with this piece, it's fantastic. It was one of the first things I ever thrifted, virgin luck, I swear.
Blouse: Thrifted. This outfit was so easy to wear and put together. I love when that happens. Immaculate Conception, anyone?
Skirt: Forever 21.
Necklace: New Zealand. You can't really see it, but I feel weird without it.
Hair clips: Goody Barrettes.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Friday, April 8, 2011

Day 99: And this is where we find ourselves; without appropriate dress or sense

No more bandaids. I ripped them all off in school. My fall has done wonders for my ability to not wear tights for a full day. Always look on the bright side of life.
Earrings: Claire's. I don't think I've ever worn earrings on this blawggg. Clearly this is your special day. I've also decided to start wearing more earrings and doing more interesting hairstyles. I think this blog will be dull if I don't change myself along with my clothes, y'know? Gotta keep it interesting or even I'll stop checking this old dear.
Button down: Forever 21. This sweater and shirt combo is the same one I wore on the first day of school. You finally get to see it. Best day of your life, obvz.
Sweater vest: Thrifted.
Cardigan: My voice teacher, who I saw today, she's heavenly. But that was always obvious.
Necklace: New Zealand. My one friend now squeals "KIWIIIIII!!!!" whenever she sees me. I'm allowed to be confused by that, right?
Dress: Delia's.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Day 98: The provision was dropped. Praise the goddess

I SHOULD have been wearing my two toned tights. But I took a tumble on my way out of piano lesson and alas, my tights has ripped beyond recognition. I'm really sad about it. But I'll be getting a new pair. I may even be changing the color combination. It's all very exciting and very depressing.
Dress: American Apparel. I'll be going there as soon as possible.
Tshirt: Broadway Across America. This is a gift to Kgeorge and Pattyrice.
Scarf: Vintage. "Borrowed" from my mother. This has not been returned in well over 3 years.
Belt: Thrifted. This belt is so glorious.
Sweater: Forever 21. This looked better on the rack. Mini sweaters are weird. I'm not a fan.
Purse: Forever 21.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Goodnight, my angel.

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Day 97: "You said she was sweet?" "Let's go eat!"

Bare legs, not being sexualized, dejected expression: my spring in a nutshell. I think I want to be a Sex Ed teacher when I grow up. Down with abstinence only sex education!
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. I'm afraid you'll just be seeing more and more Urban as the months roll on.
Pin: My voice teacher! She also gave me a yellow sweater. I'm very excited about it, of course. It's two cats that sparkle. I'm sort of convinced that my voice teacher is heaven. Possibly? Most likely.
Tshirt: Old Navy. You can't tell how stretched and grody this is. Go me!
Skirt: Urban Outfitters.
Necklace: New Zealand. Someone asked where I would go if I could study anywhere in the world, I said NZ without missing a beat. That would be the best. thing. ever.
Socks/shoes: Target.
Hi Kgeorge/Pattybad.

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Day 96: We're not gonna pretend it was easy

I am so bored with everything. Oh life, I really need to go thrifting.
Tank top: J. Crew. I become more angry with this shirt color everyday.
Blouse: Thrifted. Blah Blah Blah by Ke$ha.
Skirt: American Eagle.
Necklace: New Zealand. The shining star of my happiness.
Hair clip: Goody Barrettes. It's been a while since I gave these their due. Sorry, lovies.
Tights/socks/shoes: Target.

Monday, April 4, 2011

Day 95: In search of peace we forget our ease

I know I look distraught, but today had none of yesterdays charms and many new follies. But as for good news I finished  Wuthering Heights. I'm honestly not going to miss it, though I loved it, it was exhausting. I will miss Hareton, though. I grew fond of him...And Heathcliff...don't judge.
Blazer: Thrifted. This old dear hasn't shown its face in a while. I consider it too dark for spring but today was, clearly, a murky day.
Tunic (under blazer, over dress): Forever 21. This feels as though it should be easier than it is, but it has so many little issues that I was tempted to rip it off all day.
Dress: Target. I think this outfit looks really January. In fact if you go back to January, you'll see an outfit that looks somewhat similar to this. There are, of course, differences, but the feel is quite the same.
Pin (slightly hidden): Thrifted.
Pearls (sort of invisible): Target. These are (thankfully) getting a reasonable amount of wear. I honestly think the Kiwi necklace is what is keeping me from harassing them daily.
Kiwi necklace: New Zealand. I rest safe and warm.
Tights/socks: Target.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Day 94: You are happy hurt, you are a silly goose.

I think the nice thing about wearing a blouse that resembles a doily is that when you're free, you're positive of it. There hasn't been a doubt in my mind all day.
Blouse: Forever 21. I should make a business out of wearing doily's. Who WOULDN'T shop there?
Skirt: H&M. I know I'm wearing this over a dress, bear with me.
Purse: Thrifted. I've worn this all weekend but it, for some reason, missed all of the outfit photos. Apologies, dear purse. You've not been forgotten.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Dress: Forever 21. Always gets its own credit. It is a beautiful monster.
Tights/socks/shoes: Target. This weekend has saved me from the horror of wearing those flats multiple days in a row. I've realized why I own these and their generous value.

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Day 93: Keep my head and steal my bed

I know, this is a really dark picture. But this is my favorite outfit of this week. And I didn't want to spoil it with excess lighting or flash.
Skirt: Urban Outfitters. I saw my brother today, so I had to wear something hipster-y for him to love me. No, but I did get to learn about how magenta is a lie and how .999 repeating is equal to 1!
Tshirt: Old Navy. It's been a very tshirt-y week and I apologize for that. But I'm loving their simplicity. And they feel like summer. Even though it's April.
Scarf: American Apparel.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. I think this outfit is in reaction to the grodyness of yesterday's.
Necklace: New Zealand.
Tights/socks/shoes: Target.

Friday, April 1, 2011

Day 92: I did not understand

Urgh. I hate how close up the pictures at this door are. I'm gonna need a new location. Sorry I look like a deranged, drug addict in this picture...I can stop whenever I want.
Tie-Dye Tshirt: My sister. I call this shirt my Nun shirt, because I always feel so 'Hole-y'. I'M SO FUNNY. Yes that joke was partially stolen from George Weasley in Deathly Hallows. Don't be a hater.
Shirt under other shirt: Target. Boring is snoring.
Sweater: Old Navy. Spring never springs.
Necklace: New Zealand. My husband (don't get caught up on that part) lives in NZ and we cammed tonight and he looks exactly like a kiwi bird. I am of course joking. He looks like a respectable human being. I'm too funny for my own good.
Tights/socks/shoes: Target. God that was efficient.
