Day 276: Shouldn't have made it rain.

I got to drink a soy pumpkin-spice latte tonight, may we all just bask in that for a moment...Moment well spent. Also, my brother/his partner and me pap may have been there. But PRIORITIES.
Sweater: H&M. I may have been freezing cold tonight, in my crop top and mini skirt and summer flats. But who can notice that when the lattes were abundant.
Skirt: Johannah's. She thrifted it and almost didn't leave it for me. I am (only slightly) ashamed to say I begged.
Shoes: Target.

Day 275: We don't need no water

Do you ever wear your sister's clothing and miss her so thoroughly you start talking them? Really? You don't? Well, your sister doesn't live in France teaching Frenchies to parlez-anglais.
Dress/scarf: Johannah's. My dearest companions.
Sweater/socks: Urban Outfitters. Warm and cozy, learning to mosey.
Tights: Target.
Shoes: Dr. Martens.

Day 274: White is gonna pay, White is gonna pay.

Geekin'! Voice lesson produced another gift from teacher. I'll elaborate upon its de-virgining wear.
Sweater vest: Urban Outfitters. My brother's! He's the best. When he went to college he left me a gem. Though, I must add that the true gem was that he realized that it was reppin' hxc my house colors. PUFFS WHAT UP.
Button up: H&M. Sexy sleeves. Keeping you on your toes.
Skirt: Gap. Easy does it, now.
Purse: Forever 21.
Belt: Johannah's. Weird scarf of hers that I'm not sure how to properly use.
Shoes/socks/leggings: Target.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Day 273: Ooooh yah, did ya see how he was a leanin' and a gawkin'?

School, or le lycee (hehhhh), is getting interesting. I find myself endlessly stressed but never without intrigue into my next lesson. Oh life.
Shirtish sweater this: Forever 21. Comfort.
Dress: H&M. I believe this is my first wear of this item this school year, which is all very exciting! Welcome back, old faithful.
Tights: Nordstrom. Classay.
Necklace: Scarlett's.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Monday, September 26, 2011

Day 272: We're so cool, yeah yeah, yeah we're so cool cool.

My garish attempt at looking like an angsty, British, teen-aged, school-girl. Stance and all.
Cardigan: Johannah's. I'm rather proud of the ensemble, mostly because it gave me a sensation I've never had before. That, lady and gent, is cool. Never have I been cool, but when dressed like so, oh did I feel it.
Blouse: Thrifted. This is my favorite way I've ever worn this blouse, it has given it new life. A sense of purpose that my clothing has been known to lack.
Headband: Delia's. Also, this feels like the appropriate post to mention, I'm single and really glad that I no longer have to mingle.*
Skirt: Forever 21. Probably the clinching factor in the school-girl like properties.
Tights: Betsey Johnson. Reppin' the British.
Docs: Dr. Martens. Being thorough.
*I was the "winner" as Elaine put it in Seinfeld and to the Victor goes the spoil.

Sunday, September 25, 2011

Day 271: When I was young, I thought we all spoke the same language and some people were just mumbling.

Bonsoir, I am currently trying to remember the word for candles en francais.
Dress: H&M. Trescool. All I've done today is listen to Joanna Newsom and watch Daria. Regrets? None.
Sweater: Thrifted. Charming. This feels painfully appropriate for the fall weather.
Tights: J.Crew. My beauties from J have been destroyed with over wear and the washing machine. R.I.P., classy tights. You've been replaced with a witchy, more Doc-friendly choice.
Scarf: Homemade.
Purse: Forever 21.
Shoes: Dr. Martens. Whenever someone asks me where I purchased these boots I always say "Dr Martens?" and then they look confused and say "What? Where is that?" I pray (condescendingly, no doubt) for my generation.

Saturday, September 24, 2011

Day 270: I never want to be that guy again.

Today is homecoming so per usual, the day's outfit will not be thoroughly covered.
Sweater: H&M. Love.
Scarf/scarf (being used as garnish): Johannah's.
Purse: Forever 21. I love love love my outfits as of late.
Dress/leggings: Target. Happy happy times.
Shoes: Dr. Martens.
Homecoming! Excited!
Jumpsuit: H&M. I realized that I wasn't feeling any dresses that I saw and then I saw THIS. The best jumpsuit EVER. It's green, but because this was taken an iPad it looks black. The other plus of jumpsuit? No leg shaving. All of my friends had really positive reactions to the jumpsuit. The most common one: running up to me giggling then snorting out "Oh Caitrin, I love you."
Purse: Forever 21. I've been wanting to wear this to an event for a long, long time.
Earrings: Scarlett's. I miss her forever and always.
Necklaces: My grandmother's.
Shoes: Urban Outfitters. Only on the specialist of occasions.

Friday, September 23, 2011

Day 269: I had once committed a desperate act of my own

My favorite outfit I've worn in a long time. (tentative) maybe ever.
Sweater/skirt: Johannah's. My new favorite sweater! Look at how charmingly little girlish it is? LOOK AT IT. Also, my favorite skirt. Heaven.
Shirt: H&M. My deer shirt knows no bounds.
Tights/socks: Target. I feel fantastic. When I walked into choir today, my director looked at me and chuckled roundly to himself. Job well done.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Thursday, September 22, 2011

Day 268: You're in line with the feline of Avenue B

A concept outfit. My love of Mimi from RENT (musical. Look it up. It's awesome.) was my inspiration for this outfit, in part. The nightie and leg apparel are in dedication to Mimi, along with the Sweater. But the sweater color is for the love of Angel. The print of the nightie is all Maureen and the shoes are her lovely lover's--Joanne, due to her father's comment "No Doc Martens, this time." In the song Voice Mail #2. If you've seen the musical live you (most likely) know what I'm talking about. If you've only seen the movie (which sucks) then you only sort of know what I'm talking about. If you've never seen either, then my 7 year old self empathizes.
Nightie/sweater: Johannah's. I'm so happily enamored with this dress, for a number of reasons: It fits like a dream, it's soft as a lake in Indiana, and it reminds me so thoroughly of my sister. The sweater will serve the purpose of representing the color red in my closet.
Tights/thigh highs: Target. These are Mimi more because of the musical in later years than the original production or the movie. If you've seen it, then remember the part at the end when Mimi is dying and wearing those killer grey, sweater-tights? This is the closest I could get to that effect.
Belt: J. Jill. Trying to achieve the appropriate level of grodiness.
Shoes: Dr. Martens. Is it socially acceptable to wear these shoes every day? I sure hope so.

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Day 267: Not bad old timer

Just trying to get by. My sister is leaving, I wish I could go with her.
Skirt/sweater: Johannah's. I'm just mosyin' along. Missing all that she is to me.
Shirt: Broadway Across America.
Purse: Thrifted. I'm getting a lot of my sister's clothes this week. I wish I could just get her.
Shoes: Target.

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Day 266: Happiness is telling the time

MY DOCS ARE HERE! I am so excited about them and this outfit and everything. This outfit is supposed to represent my 90s rage and angst and utter love of my birth decade.
Dress/necklace: Johannah's. I wore the dress because it made me feel like I was grungy and sexy but the necklace was my reminder that I am 15 and I was very young when everything good and dirty happened. That is my story of woe.
Socks/leggings: Target. Keepin' it real and makin' it so my *ahem* lower body isn't showing.
Headband: miscellaneous.
Shoes: Dr. Martens. Aren't they heaven? I plan on wearing them 24/7.

Sunday, September 18, 2011

Day 264: Real steal

Wearing jeans isn't in my genes. But poor puns are!
Jeans: H&M. My friend Kaitlyn is now trying to make me wear jeans more often (as in more than once every 6 months) because she thinks I look "damn fine".
Shirt: Broadway Across America. My favorite RENT shirt. I want the newest one, though.
Sweater: Johannah's.
Shoes: Walmart. Please don't hate me for supporting a company that hates my country.

Saturday, September 17, 2011

Day 263: Absurdity mixed with hilarity

Guard competition! A 4 hour car ride followed by a 1 hour car ride! I would be lying if I said I'm excited. I would be lying if I said this would be a good weekend.
Shirt: Broadway Across America. I have been attempting to think of clever questions to ask mahboy while in the car. His answers will prove valuable, I'm sure.
Jacket: Color Guard. I love the sense of community that this jacket fills me with.
Shorts/leggings: Target.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Friday, September 16, 2011

Day 262: Is this holy wine? Father hasn't blessed it yet.

Sorry for the excessive wearing of this hoodie. I'm obsessed.
Sweater vest: Thrifted. The first wearing of this grand ol' champion.
Dress: H&M. This was a rejected Spring Formal dress that I bought anyway. Good decisions ought to be praised with more vigor.
Hoodie/Necklace: Johannah's.
Tights/socks: Target.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Thursday, September 15, 2011

Day 261: You're always saying you want to work on your cooking

It's getting cold so guess what's making an appearance: URBAN SWEATERS! I've craved them low these many months.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. As previously stated, I've missed this.
Dress: Forever 21. Velvet is here again and I'm young again.
Tights: Nordstrom. I love loving these.
Pins: Scarlett and Voice Teacher's. Happy happy happy happy.
Socks/shoes: Target.

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Day 260: You're a real Joan of Arc, you know that?

This picture is the reason it took so long to update my blog. I'll just say sorry bout it.
Skirt/sweater/shirt: Johannah's. Wow. A threefer.
Headband: Voice Teacher's.
Necklace: Thrifted.
Shoes: Target.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Day 259: Have you girls seen your father's spirit animal?

This outfit feels like safety.
Skirt/shirt: Johannah's. This may be my favorite new item of clothing.
Sweater: Costco. I saw a girl in the hall who was wearing a floral, floor length skirt and boyfriend cardigan and I immediately wanted to be her friend.
Scarf: France. Culture.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Monday, September 12, 2011

Day 258: Happy birthday, Ruben Studdard!

It's my BIRTHDAY. I'm 15. I'm the first person to ever turn 15 so this is a really big deal.
Shirt/sweater: Johannah's. I feel the need to love her by wearing her.
Skirt: H&M. Beauty is much more refined when I wear leather. For my birthday I'm asking for: Dr. Martens, all five seasons of Daria, and The Hunger Games Trilogy. From my siblings I asked for: A condom and a mix from each.
Headband: My voice teacher's. Gifts are great.
Petti-coat: American Apparel. I feel beautiful in petti-coats.
Socks: Target.
Necklace: Scarlett's. This outfit is a compilation of all my favorite women.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Sunday, September 11, 2011

Day 257: Hey Jane, got any change? Hey Trent, got any shame?

In dedication to Missoni at Target. If only I had money for the real thing.
Dress: Forever 21. Loving everything that is beautiful.
Sweater: Johannah's. All things that are good in this world are from Johannah's closet.
Shoes: Target. Simple.

Saturday, September 10, 2011

Day 256: When you wear big shoes the rest of you looks cuter by comparison

It's been a long time living this life. Also, my birthday is in 2 DAYS.
Hoodie: Johannah's. Happy happy days happen most often when I'm wearing my sister's clothes and comfortability is the only goal.
Shirt: Broadway Across America. This is my Spring Awakening shirt. On the front it says "There's a moment you know..." and on the back it says "YOU'RE FUCKED!"
Skirt: Forever 21. Eeeaaaassssyyyy.
Purse: Thrifted.
Leggings/shoes: Target.

Friday, September 9, 2011

Day 255: You're being a...uh...uh...creep!

New shoes. (Hopefully) new pose. New sweater. A post of beginnings.
Sweater: H&M. This piece is just like a small little happy place. It feels sophisticated and easy and nice. And I'm gonna go look of new adjectives because I'm 255 days into this blog and I think the only words I use to describe my clothes are easy and nice. I will now call myself a LOSER.
Skirt: Forever 21. My current favorite. The most joyous skirt I know. (Does that work or do I still suck?) (Who's approval am I looking for right now?)
Scarf: Me mam's. I have a friend who is accidentally offensive to me all of the time. It would be funny if it wasn't offensive.
Tights: Nordstrom. Wearing patterned tights makes me feel sexual.
Socks/NEWSHOESOMG: Target. New shoes yay. I love these little baby heals. Mahboyfriendboy was confused by my sudden height change but refused to mention it until he figured it out.

Thursday, September 8, 2011

Day 254: Prefixes keep me warm at night

Cold cold, wouldeth youeth lighteth myeth candleth? (This is some terrible RENT humor. Please just carry on).
Tank top/sweater: Johannah's. All too summery to be on my body in the cold of September. I love the sweater-hoodie-thing and feel it is supreme for everything ever. Ever.
Skirt: Urban Outfitters. Another reason for the whole "I was shaking all day" thing.
Tights: Nordstrom. My new bestie. Can I talk about my resentment about how that faux-word is spelled -ie instead of -y? No? Okay.
Socks: Target.
Shoes: Old Navy.

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Day 253: I'm your little life giver, I will give my life

Bummin' it. The weather has gone from the high 90's (or in Celsius, very hot) to the high 50's (much colder). This would be a positive change if the chill didn't come with freezing rain and wind beyond endurance. Guard practice felt like being whipped repeatedly.
Striped shirt/button down: Gifted from my sister because she's moving to France in a month (!!!!!!) and now has some clothes that need a new home. From this point on I'll label these items as thrifted because that's what they are. Johannah will forever be bitter.
Sweater: Urban Outfitters. The first appearance of this sweater! It makes me so happy, I can't explain. When donning this sweater I feel so completely in a new season that it makes me ache.*
Skirt: Gap. Best. Skirt. Ever. It's so easy. I just want to listen to Easy by Joanna Newsom ALL THE TIME.
Leggings: Target. The most obvious sign of my slum-bum day.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
*positive aching.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Day 252: All of the lights have gone out of your pretty face

Today we had to attempt our show hair for competition (Guard speak, obvi). I did a heinous job.
Shirt: Thrifted. I don't give a damn, I'm happy as a clam.
Button down/skirt: H&M. I miss watching A Room with a View every week and drinking tea for every meal. Oh how I yearn for last year.
Tights: American Apparel.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls. What if I did a series of posts that were in all caps? Would you still read my blog? I wouldn't.

Monday, September 5, 2011

Day 251: "THANK YOU FEMINISTS!"

The last sibling to make it onto the blog. Blog reader(s), meet JACOB. Bachelor extradonaire, Jacob has been known to be considered the Don Draper of OSU. He is (in)famous for his sporadic and erratic rapping and excessive tea drinking. Jacob obsessively watches West Wing and listens to Iron & Wine.
Blazer: Thrifted. Simple outfit that sort of matches Jacob's. I've been trying to put him on the blog for ages, but he refused until his outfit was "worthy".
Lace shirt: Forever 21. Joy to the world.
Skirt: Gap.
Tights/socks: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
I assume Jacob's shirt is from Gap and his pants are from J.Crew.

Sunday, September 4, 2011

Day 250: The giant wants YOU

As you can tell I'm staying at my dad's and I have limited resources and thus I have to repeat pieces more often then I like. Hopefully you don't go into a violent rage upon seeing the bottom of this dress again.
Shirt: Thrifted. Just haaaaaangin'. Having a boyfriend is weird. I think it's the title that bothers me more than anything else.
Dress: H&M. This dress feels tricky because the back is a different fabric than the front. Crazy stuff.
Leggings: Target. Incredible. Why don't these get more wear? Because they are extremely itchy and unflattering and leggings are weird and all I ever think is "WHY ARE MY TOES UNCOVERED?"
Belt: Scarlett's.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Saturday, September 3, 2011

Day 249: Ask a wolf's mother.

I hadn't mentioned this but I had a date today. It went rather well. All I'm going to say is that the movie The Help isn't as good as everyone made it out to be and my relationship status on facebook has never gotten so much attention.
Dress: Forever 21. I love this dress because I feel so kewl when I wear it. I wish I didn't spell it like that but it's just how I'm feelin'.
Vest: Thrifted. I now have enough vests in my closet that I've designated a vest section. It's next to the blazer section and the blouse section.
Tights: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Friday, September 2, 2011

Day 248: Where is your son?

Football game tonight! Happy happy times!
Jacket: Color Guard. Everyone on Guard had to wear their jackets today. I loved it! I felt so close to everyone because I could spot them from ANYWHERE.
Blouse: Thrifted.
Skirt: Forever 21. I'm just so excited.
Tights/socks: Target.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Day 247: You see in the distance, three oak trees.

Feelin' good, like a livin' bein' should.
Blouse: Thrifted. I'm really into this weather, it's getting colder and my blouses finally get to come out to play.
Skirt: H&M.
Tights: Anthropologie. These tights are finally being worn! I've missed them.
Sweater: Costco.
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang at Kohls.
